this is going to be a rant why when I preach about a ChurchwithoutWalls being a church for all am I immediately ghettoised by churches as promoting the rights of homsexuality/lesbianism?Do these churches not see that they're toxic to all they touch-or more like it don't touch?They don't just blatantly exclude people they label as bad or sinful they subtly exclude all who are different to them.
Bad church is all about having weird rituals that you stick to because you've been worshipping that way for ever.Bad church is sticking to these rituals no matter what because the people that go there have OCD Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.These OCD people couldn't possibly change their important routines to reach out a hand to a stranger that's unfortunate to enter their domain. That would be disrespectful or upsetting or interfere with their quiet time with God.Well that is just a pile of ....God doesn't want worship.God wants you to be kind to whoever happens to be in your vicinity.God doesn't want OCD people going through their strange tics of public prayer he wants you to reach out to that stranger in your midst.So why does church just cater to OCD sufferers instead of just socialising with everyone?
Say no to bad church and you know who you are.
you don't know how much it means I've been taking stick all day from churches not brave enough to post a comment here but saying that,of all things I'm being offensive to OCD people! i'm not-people with OCD have to choose whether to try therapy to overcome it.Some church people are just so insistent on tradition that it puts others off entirely.
You've obviously had a bad experience of church, but I don't think that we're all like that.
