had to blog this one on a recovery group in America that's set up for those who used to go to church but have had to break away.
At Recovering Religionists people learn how to live normally one person said“Most religions set up these impossibly high standards, so you’re set up to fail. Everything that’s human is a sin.”
Another said“I’m amazed at how much happier I am now that I’m not walking around with all that guilt.”
check it people and let me know what you think,ChurchwithoutWalls hearts all and that means YOU

I think the most telling comment was from the Mormon who said that when he left the church he had to actually go out and build up a circle of friends.

I'm sure there are people who regard their beliefs (and I include pagans in this too) as a handy social tool.In the end it becomes a social club and little more.
As for sin - well, there are useful moral guidelines and there are those that are simply a stick to beat the dog with. A way of exercising power and control over others.
I certainly don't believe we're all sinners. None of us are perfect... but that's a different thing. I don't think I would want to be perfect. It would be awfully boring to know you were right all the time.
